Steve Eastwell, Chief Operations Officer
Steve is responsible for all Technical, Operational and Support activity. A former Director at Trakm8 and Fleetmatics (UK & USA), he is highly experienced and respected in all aspects of Telematics Solution, Product, Project and Operational Management gained over the past 18 years. Steve has been instrumental in successfully delivering UBI Insurance based telematics solutions in the UK, Europe and Canada and setting up new operations in the US. UK and China.
Geoff Ball, Managing Director
Geoff joined Matrix in 2005 having spent 23 years at one of the world’s most innovative construction OEMs - JCB. From an engineering background, and having held a variety of national and international roles, Geoff was responsible for implementing the world’s first Global CANbus integrated telematics solution at JCB in 1997. Geoff has also developed and implemented OEM factory fit tracking solutions for some of the world’s leading construction equipment manufacturers including: Liebherr, Dynapac, Bomag & Doosan.
Ian Fishwick, Finance Director
Ian is a Chartered Accountant who trained in the Manchester office of Touche Ross & Co (now Deloittes). After qualifying in 1986 he moved into the commercial sector and spent time with Shell UK and Northumbrian Water Group amongst others. He joined Matrix Telematics as Finance Director in 2009 and brings a wealth of senior financial experience.
Phil Powell, Sales Director
Phil joined Matrix in 2013 having spent the previous 7 years as the owner of a satellite navigation business supplying a broad variety markets. With a background in sales, Phil has overseen the management and significant growth of some key Matrix accounts - introducing sizeable new business. Responsible for managing and servicing these accounts, Phil is also heavily involved in the development of new markets and product innovation.
Ian Fairbrother, Technical Director
Ian spent 12 years as a lead software developer within BAE, working on many cutting edge MoD software projects. Over the last 8 years, he has overseen the delivery of Matrix’s many customer branded CANbus solutions, including: Liebherr, Aggreko, Metso Dynapac, Patient Track & Vendman. His many skills include C++ programming, Oracle, MySQL and Dynamo database management, windows .NET, CANbus and proprietary EMS software development.
Simon Packman, Support Services Director
Simon has a wealth of knowledge in the automotive industry, having spent 15 years within the industry’s aftermarket sector. Highly experienced in managing major leasing fleet electrical installation programmes for the likes of Lex and HSBC, he joined Matrix in 2005. A computer science graduate, Simon is responsible for overseeing all supplier hardware and software integration and implementing the robust processes that enable Matrix to continuously meet the rigorous standards set by our expanding customer base.
